The Joint Admission and Matriculation board is an entrance examination into tertiary level of institutions in Nigeria. The board conducts entrance exam for undergraduates every year into various tertiary institutions.

Does Biochemistry require Mathematics instead of Biology in jamb?

No, a biochemistry aspirant does not need to write mathematics in JAMB. He or she is expected to write biology in JAMB not Mathematics.

Mathematics is not required in JAMB to study Biochemistry it is only needed in your O’ level.

How many hrs is JAMB Exam?

The time required for a JAMB examination is 2 hours or 120 minutes.

How many questions is in JAMB?

They have a total of 180 questions in the JAMB exam. 60 questions for English and 40 questions for the remaining 3 subjects depending on your course.

How Is JAMB Exam marked?

JAMB score is calculated by Dividing your pass score by the total number of questions and then multiplying by 100. Let’s take two examples for more clarification;

Subject: English Language

Total questions; 60

Passed questions: 45

JAMB Score: 45/60 ×100= 75%

Subject Chemistry

Total questions 40

Passed questions 30

JAMB SCORE: 30/40 ×100= 75%

What is the name of the novel that will be used in JAMB this year?

The Novel that was used for 2023/2024 JAMB was “The Life Changer” by Khadija A. Jalli. Every two (2) years, the Board changes the Novel students use for English preparation. We will update this post once the Novel for the upper year is announced.

How many questions is from the JAMB novel?

JAMB may ask 10, 15 or even 20 questions from the English novel, but never more than 25 questions from the English text.

Many students have this mentality that JAMB is difficult to pass, but to tell you the truth JAMB is the easiest external exam in Nigeria to pass depending on your preparation and level of seriousness.

If you are comparing JAMB to other external entrance exams in Nigeria like WASSCE(WAEC) you will see that JAMB is more easier to pass, Infact JAMB is an objective computer based exam unlike WAEC, NECO and other exams where you have both theory, practical and objective questions.

This mentality is brought about how much examination malpractice has crawled into the WAEC system were students depend on expo from their respective centers which makes them not to prepare for their exams.

If you ask me I will absolutely tell you JAMB is easier to pass compared to

WAEC if you are allowed to write both exams yourself without any form of examination malpractice

Is there Examination malpractice in JAMB?

No, there is no examination malpractice in the joint admission and matriculation board exams. Please don’t be deceived by anyone telling you to pay some certain amount of money for exam malpractice because is fake. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Exam is strictly written without any form of malpractice.

Can I enter university without writing JAMB?

Yes, they are other entrance examination aside JAMB that you can write to secure admission into tertiary level of education one of them is JUPEB.

Why is it not possible to get 99 in JAMB Biology?

Definitely it is very difficult to get 99 on biology for JAMB considering biology is a very broad subject comprising of ot of things. It’s more easier to get 99 in mathematics than to biology. Note am not saying is not possible to get 99 in Biology but is difficult.

Where is JAMB Head quarters?

The National Headquarters of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board is located at Galki 189, Abuja, Nigeria. But they have annex headquarters in every state within the federation.
