With the Micro-Project-Scheme the German Embassy aspires to help NGOs / NPOs and other civil society actors which back marginalized, and needy communities or communities in growth.
The priority of the aid for micro projects is on the following sectors in South Africa:
- Women’s Rights
- Anti-Discrimination of any sort
- Just Energy Transition
- Local Economic Development/Alternative Livelihoods
Should you have a scheme, which meets the standards described in the Guideline, funding of up to 25.000 Euro could be approved.
Please send the application form to the German Embassy:
- Illustrating your institution (members, financial background, etc.),
- Offer connections to projects already initiated by your community (knowledge),
- Explain the project you need financial support for (target group, etc.),
- Hand over a detailed financial estimate of the project (Project´s self-contribution, donor´s contribution; membership dues, land) as well as
- Time and location of the project.
Benefits:
If you deem applying for a micro project the utmost amount will be 25.000 Euro.
Please ensure to read the guidelines carefully and submit all documents needed.
Please keep in mind that, among others, the following costs cannot be funded:
- Salaries of your organization’s workers
- Administration and travel expenses
- Operational and recurring costs in general
- Purchase of land or allocation of loans etc.
